History of the Global Conservation Group Inc.
iThe organization was created in 2008 by Jordan and Michael Turner. It finally hit them...why do we think of cats and dogs as family members, but pay others to cruelly murder pigs and cows? Ingrid Newkirk puts it best: “When it comes to having a central nervous system, and the ability to feel pain, hunger, and thirst, a rat is a pig is a dog is a boy.”
Jordan Turner was only 13 years old when he founded this organization. Him and his friends would go searching after a storm for baby birds that might have fallen from their nests. They saved frogs with broken legs, baby birds that fell in street drains, and more. In 2008, the organization was officially created, and we had a small volunteer staff. Now we have a staff of about 30 people running three different locations around the world; Watertown WI., Parish NY., and India. All three locations are open 24/7 for animal emergencies. We also created a very sucessful anti-fishing campaign called "R U A Hooker?" The goal of this campaign is to inform people on the cruelty behind fishing.
